A postdoctoral position is available on an ongoing NIH-funded study to dissect the circuitry regulating arousal to pain. The study investigates to understand the central brain circuits regulating pain and arousal which will pave the way for designing better non-opioidergic options that can not only block pain induced sleep-disturbances, but also help reverse tolerance to the existing analgesics.

The successful candidate is expected to take a leadership role in the research project.  The individual will be encouraged to develop personal research aligned with the broad goals of the primary investigator and collaborators. This position provides the opportunity to work and learn in an outstanding research environment and a highly collaborative and collegial community. Other benefits include active mentoring by the primary investigator and relevant co-mentor(s), as well as additional research and career development training in the context of an ongoing postdoctoral fellowship program at Division of Sleep Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
