The Committee on Committees, consisting of the President-Elect and the four Section heads, will recommend members to the Board of Directors. The Board then has the discretion to make selections independent of these recommendations.
The Nominations Committee, which includes Executive Committee members, will send out a request to membership to nominate other SRS members for the elected position(s). The Nominations Committee will then consider the nominating slate, along with any recommendations from members of the committee. The committee will then select two nominees to run for the position, plus one backup in the event that one of the nominees cannot or will not run for election. The Nominations Committee recommendation will then go to the Board of Directors, who then has the power to select two nominees independent of the Nominations Committee recommendations. The SRS President will then contact the final two nominees to determine their willingness to run for the position. In the case that one of the nominees elects not to run, the President will contact the alternate candidate, selected by the Board. If there are not two nominees on the ballot, the Board will select another nominee. All SRS members with voting rights will receive a ballot. The candidate with the most votes will be appointed to the position.
