Mandate

The Educational Programs Committee proposes, plans and develops sleep research related programs, materials and products to meet the continuing education needs of the membership, excluding trainee programs. The Committee recommends and implements a mechanism for the submission and review of educational program proposals. The Committee advises the Board regarding continuing education activities that will benefit members.

Activities

  • Study and recommend to the board the development of a continuing education program and activities to be sponsored by the organization
  • Recommend methods of financing activities of an overall education program
  • Arrange for continued review and periodic evaluation of all aspects of the education program
  • Coordinate with the AASM regarding the need for courses, clinics, seminars, etc.
  • Study and recommend educational exhibits to be offered in conjunction with the annual meeting
  • Oversee process for evaluating and revising the Basics of Sleep Behavior syllabus
  • Develop slide sets to facilitate the teaching of sleep research
