CIRCADIAN®

International Consulting Firm – Sleep Scientist

The leading international research and consulting firm on fatigue management in 24/7 shiftwork operations (www.circadian.com) seeks an accomplished sleep scientist to lead an expert team in the investigation and forensic analysis of transportation and industrial human error accidents, and develop empirically based opinions regarding the likelihood of sleep deprivation, sleep disorders and/or human fatigue as a contributory factor to the incident.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. or its equivalent with a strong record of peer-reviewed published scientific research and teaching in the area of sleep, fatigue, circadian physiology and/or performance.  The ideal candidate will have strong and effective oral and writing presentation skills, and be equally comfortable analyzing data and explaining the results and/or conclusory opinions to scientific as well as non-scientific audiences.  Applicants should have a record of high scientific achievement and be at least mid-career.

In addition to forensic investigations there will be significant opportunities to author scientific articles and publications taking advantage of one of the largest databases in the world on shiftworker health, safety and performance, and to speak at scientific, industry and government policy meetings.  In addition, we provide an opportunity to learn hands on about our business model, technology and consulting methodology and develop on-going relationships with Fortune 500 companies to aid in the delivery of products and services aimed at keeping companies and their employees safe, healthy and productive in very demanding 24/7 occupations.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with senior members of our staff in our headquarters office (located in the Boston area near Rt. 128 and I-93), including the CEO and founder, a former Harvard Professor.

Candidates should submit a C.V., and a brief statement summarizing your interests, qualifications and career objectives to Irene Fassler JD, VP Administration, CIRCADIAN at ifassler@circadian.com
