The American Time Use Survey (ATUS) is the Nation's first federally administered, continuous survey on time use in the United States. It measures, for example, time spent with children, working, sleeping, or doing leisure activities. The Department of Labor is seeking comments on a number of topics related to the informaton collected including but not limited to:

  • Enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected.
  • Minimize the burden of the collection of information on those who are to respond, including through the use of appropriate automated, electronic, mechanical, or other technological collection techniques or other forms of information technology, e.g., permitting electronic submissions of responses.

ATUS is one of few nationally representative sources of surveillance data on sleep, and stakeholders are encouraged to contribute comments in the Federal Register. View additional information about this request for comments by clicking here.
