The SRS understands that, in the ever-changing field of sleep medicine, it is important to recognize those future clinicians, researchers, and students in our organization. By hosting educational events like Trainee Day at the SLEEP meeting and offering grants, the SRS strives to recognize outstanding trainee members.

The SRS encourages young investigators take advantage of educational and networking opportunities at the annual meeting by providing awards to help offset the cost of registration, travel and lodging.
First Time Travel Awards
The SRS encourages all trainees who have not previously attended the SLEEP annual meeting to apply for a First Time Travel Award. This award is intended to help trainees enrich their academic development by attending SLEEP. The costs of registration, travel and lodging associated with the annual meeting can add up. The First Time Travel Award helps makes attendance more affordable for scientists who are just beginning their careers. All applications must be submitted electronically by February 4, 2014.

Trainees may also have the opportunity to gain exposure and experience by giving a short oral presentation of their work in a forum with fellow trainees and senior faculty. All applications must be submitted electronically by January 7, 2014.
