The SRS has five standing committees. The rosters and charges for these
committees are posted below.
Government Relations Committee
The Government Relations Committee will guide and organize SRS volunteers in their advocacy efforts with members of Congress
and through communicating the value of sleep research to NIH Officials in order to build meaningful relationships
over time and thereby enhance funding for sleep research.
Educational Program
Committee
The Educational Program Committee proposes, plans and develops sleep research
related programs, materials and products to meet the continuing education needs
of the membership, excluding trainee programs.
Membership & Communication Committee
The Membership and Communications Committee makes recommendations to the Board related to the recruitment of new members, and retention of and communication with current members.
Research Committee
The Research Committee is responsible making recommendations to the Board
regarding the society’s policies and activities relating to research.
Trainee Education
Advisory Committee (TEAC)
The Trainee and Education Advisory Committee (TEAC) recommends and reviews
trainee related programs and activities, including requests for trainee travel
assistance, trainee workshops, and trainee activities scheduled in conjunction
with the APSS annual scientific meeting.
