Mission:
The Sleep Research Society is a member organization of scientists that exists
to foster scientific investigation on all aspects of sleep and its disorders,
to promote training and education in sleep research, and to provide forums for
the exchange of knowledge pertaining to sleep.
Purpose:
The Sleep Research Society, through its members and leadership, is organized
exclusively for scientific, educational, and charitable purposes. The SRS and
its members foster scientific research investigation in all areas of sleep.
The Goals of the Sleep Research Society are as
follows:

To provide forums for the exhange of information pertaining to sleep research,
including scientific publications and meetings,

To establish and maintain standards of reporting and classifying data in the
field of sleep research, and

To collaborate with other organizations to foster scientific investigation on
sleep and its disorders.

J. Christian Gillin, M.D. Research Grant The SRSF J. Christian Gillin, M.D. Research Grant is intended to
support beginning investigators in sleepresearch for the
purpose of gathering pilot data to be used for future grant applications. Up to
three, one-year grants will be funded with each in the amount of up to
$20,000.
Elliott D. Weitzman, M.D. Research GrantThe SRSF Elliott D. Weitzman, M.D. Research Grant is intended for
researchers to gather additional pilot data for NIH or other federal grants that
are scored but not funded (the SRS assumes that such grants have been reviewed
by NIH). Grants that will be considered are those that have a sound plan but
were noted for inadequate preliminary data or evidence of feasibility. Up to
three, one-year grants will be funded with each in the amount of up to $20,000.
